So, anyone else get caught completely off guard by Mayor Nagin's comments?

Even though I shouldn't be, I guess I'm still surprised by ignorance and racism in this world. I don't really know why I am. I know for a fact that it is still there, as it can be easily seen in my peers and colleagues in my life.
